Wicked at Gershwin Theatre

No musical just knocks box office records out of the ballpark, while joining the greats atop the list of productions that grossed over $1 billion, and later taking the place of the world’s second-highest selling musical, but Wicked has. Frank Baum's classic novel, ‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz’, follows the enchanting tale of two witches before Dorothy’s arrival in Oz. With a deep exploration of improbable friendship between contrasting personalities, conflicting viewpoints, and a shared love interest, and the subtextual corrupt rule of the Wizard of Oz threatening a seemingly perfect world, everybody and anybody is bound to get caught up in the smart storytelling, dazzling spectacle, nuanced and interesting characters, and, of course, composer Stephen Schwartz’s incredible score.

The fact is that the audience will be left wowed|an entire audience will leave the Gershwin Theatre, feeling that saying that it was nice, Wicked leaves even the most vocal person speechless, and the biggest critic totally ‘bewitched’.
